If you’re a performer and you want to leave your audience wanting more, sing ’em this! I’ve found it’s a terrific ending to a live performance. It’ll leave ’em with a lump in their throat and a tear in their eye. (I almost couldn’t finish singing it myself when I performed it at the last performance of my show Postcard from the Heart. Boy, talk about embarrassing!) It was originally written to be sung by Mary McCandless for the one-act musical, Ragtime Rosie. It’s one of Mary’s favourites.
