One grey day around Christmas, when I was feeling particularly blue, I decided to cheer myself up by writing a song as if I were one of the legendary wise men like Buddha or Lao Tze. The result even surprised me. In fact, it was one of the most effortless songs I’ve ever written. (It was completed within a week—record time!) The last stanza still primes the tear ducts! Now, whenever I feel myself getting down, I say the words and feel a whole lot better. Hopefully it’ll work for you, too.
