1997 You have no idea what being weak in the presence of beauty is — that’s for me to experience listening to your music. 1998 I loved 15 Songs in Search of Broadway. Full of inventive lyrics and catchy melodies. Perfectly balanced. Left me wanting more. A good sign I’d say. I’m going to tell all my friends about it. Can’t pick a favourite yet. Only heard the album twice. I can’t believe you wrote the music AND lyrics. I am sure one day your name will be up in “lights.” Wonderful lyrics. Good as anything around. Irving Berlin, move over! What a wonderful time I have had hearing your beautiful, original music and lyrics. I have cried, laughed and gotten goose bumps from the depth of your great songs. You have a clear and distinctive voice. It’s warm and melodic with a real sense of heart to it. I personally prefer the ballads which I think are timeless and touching (“If I Could Be” and “Look at Me” are my favorites), although I can see the comedy numbers having a decent life as well…All the best luck with it. My favourites are the ballads. As I was listening to them, I could imagine how they’d sound being sung by some of the really famous vocalists: The Sophie Tucker song was just made for Bette Midler. “I Want You For Christmas” would be perfect for Natalie Cole…By far the best, most commercial song of the bunch is “If I Could Be…Congratulations on a really fine piece of work. “If I Could Be” is wonderful. Lewis writes lyrics and music we have waited to hear for too long. When you listen to “If I Could Be,” “What Did I Know?” “I Want You For Christmas,” or “A Place Where I Belong”…you will perhaps think as I do—that we have a great talent in our midst. The unique point of this music is that it is singable, hummable. 2000 There was not a dry eye in the place when everyone heard “A Place Where I Belong.” Your composition and lyrics touch so many so deeply. 2001 I love music, and I really love your music, your talent, your voice, your gifts! Thanks for giving so much of yourself. Please keep writing, composing and singing. My evening of pressing “REPEAT ALL” sent me to bed with a smile on my face. Thanks, bravo and all the best! “Stone By Stone” spoke to me at a time when I needed courage…It is truly an inspiring song. Its message will be with me always. And the wedding song “Our Love Will Last Forever” is so beautiful!!!! It pretty much summed up how my partner and I feel about each other. It brought tears to both of our eyes. God has given you a truly amazing gift and the world needs to hear your message. I thank you for the privilege of hearing your music. Damn, your music moves my heart! I hope some of these songs do find a home. 15 Songs in Search of Broadway is such a classy collection of great songs and lyrics. I especially love “Send Me a Postcard,” “If I Could Be,” “A Place Where I Belong.” It’s easier to rank them 15 to 1 rather than mention them all. I really enjoyed your work. You could definitely succeed in theatre. It’s been 15 seconds in and I’m completely moved…you have such a warm, natural and honest voice…Keep writing beautiful music. I didn't get a chance to listen to [15 Songs in Search of Broadway] until I played it in the car today and was TOTALLY unprepared for the music! Ballads are really your forte!! They are wonderful. The lyrics are full and pull me into the song right off. Some of your songs are perfect for the movies—the rhythms and tempi are catchy. You have so many styles—the snappy tight rhyming in the up-tempo as opposed to the more open rhymes of the ballads. I think you are very talented! 2003 All the lyrics are well-crafted and thoughtfully rendered…Harry's voice and piano work well together… …you're so in tune with your emotions which I find very inspiring...I don't understand how you can be so talented and not be famous… It’s about time the public is finally getting an opportunity to experience your talent. We have received dozens of messages of praise for your music at our wedding. They loved it! My favorite song is “If I Could Be.” I’d like to learn it. I started voice lessons a year ago at 53! I think that you have something very important to share. I enjoyed Postcards from the Heart. Your lyrics and music are quite witty, reminding me of Cole Porter and Noel Coward. Harry Lewis writes the kind of songs that make you feel like you've known him for years, hummable tunes with touching lyrics…I'd go anywhere to hear Harry Lewis sing some of his break-your-heart ballads… …this love-themed cabaret, built around the open-hearted and well-crafted songs of star Harry Lewis…has undeniable laughs…Lewis's very best songs are clever, even moving. Harry´s is a stand-alone show with songs akin to those of the greats. I think that everyone would benefit in…surrendering to the beauty that is Postcards from the Heart. A genuine feel-good show. I loved every minute of it. Harry Lewis is divine as a performer and songwriter…Recommend it with four thumbs up. Loved the show and will be back again…with out-of-towners…wonderful songs…solid performances. Classy and refreshing… …too wonderful to miss. …absolutely lovely show…will make you smile for days. The energy, range and infectious enthusiasm of this production begs to be remounted in a longer (we want more!) format…Excellent performances, writing and direction all ’round... The songs by Lewis are melodic and lyrically very clever. You can tell that Lewis is at his best behind the piano singing songs that make you laugh and cry…I hope this show continues to make inroads into the musical theatre repertoire for Canadian production companies.
